Community Church

Eglwys Noddfa (Noddfa Community Church) is located in Noddfa Community Centre on the Peblig estate in Caernarfon. The church was established back in 1956 through the work of the Forward Movement and the Mission Worker, Sister Emily. In the 1960’s the present Community Centre building was erected following fund-raising locally and nationally. Noddfa church developed to be the busy Community Centre it is today.

The Church continues to be a central part of Noddfa Centre. Sunday services for all ages are held weekly at 3 o’clock. Everyone is welcome to join the service and have a chat and a panad. We are a very informal church in Eglwys Noddfa – pop in to see!

Today the Presbyterian Church of Wales employs a Community Worker at the church; Rev. Mererid Mair Williams. Mererid works from the church office in Noddfa and is usually available in the office on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mererid is able to offer support with various matters which include:

  • Benefits
  • Housing needs
  • Debt issues
  • Advocacy

It is possible to make an appointment to see Mererid by phoning the church office on 01286 672257. The answer machine is completely confidential and is checked often by Mererid, so you are welcome to leave a message.

As well as the community support work, the church also arranges other various activities which include:

  • Playscheme during Easter and Summer Holidays
  • Afternoon tea
  • Warm Hub Lunch with the Centre committee
  • Community Fun Days

Through all our activities here in Eglwys Noddfa we pray that people of all ages, will have the opportunity to form a relationship with our Saviour and feel His warmth and love in their lives.
